Celebrity Chef Sophia Roe Announces Birth and Baby Name of 1st Baby with Fiance Chris Cushingham

Celebrity chef Sophia Roe is a mom! The Top Chef star and her partner Chris Cushingham have welcomed their first baby together and revealed their little one’s baby name. “the best thing i’ve ever made.”

To announce her baby news, Sophia, who shared in March that she was pregnant, posted a series of images of her newborn, including pictures of the couple with their first baby. Sophia and Chris welcomed a baby girl at their home on June 29th. They chose to name her Mizu Lee, and Sophia shared her daughter’s name pronunciation: “MEE ZOO.” The chef gushed about her daughter writing, “shes’s the greatest love @chriscush and I have ever known, the best thing i’ve ever made, and most beautiful thing i’ve ever seen. we are in full blown baby bliss over here, and wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Sophia, who got engaged to Chris in Hawaii shortly before learning she was pregnant, gave an update on how the couple were embracing life as parents. “we are in full blown baby bliss over here, and wouldn’t have it any other way. @chriscush.” She also shared her joy over becoming a mom. “the greatest honor of my life is to be mizu’s mom and to have made you her father. only a love like ours could’ve made a human as sweet and tender as our girl. I didn’t know if i’d ever get to have my mizu, in fact I was almost certain i’d never have a baby of my own, but here we are now with her, our DAUGHTER(!!!) in our life, and thank goodness for that because she’s all I could ever want or need, but so much more.”

The chef gave a glimpse into her birth story after welcoming Mizu in a home birth, with the promise she would share her experience in detail soon. “her birth was the most transformative experience of my life, so for anyone looking to hear an incredibly positive first-time-mom, natural, and unmedicated home birth story, trust I have one for you! For now, we are resting and soaking up all there is with this baby girl.”
