NFL Player JJ Watt Welcomes Baby #2 with Wife Kealia Ohai, Announces Baby Name

Retired football player JJ Watt has added another bundle of joy to his family! The former Arizona Cardinals player and his wife Kealia Ohai announced the birth of their second baby together. The couple announced in February that they were growing their family.

To reveal their baby’s news, the couple shared a joint Instagram post featuring images of their family taken at the hospital. The couple welcomed a baby boy on June 14th and chose to name him Niko Benjamin Watt. Niko joins the family with the couple’s first baby, son Koa James, and the family’s two dogs: Tex and Fin. In the caption, the new father of two wrote, “Overcome with joy and gratitude.”

The retired defensive end first met Kealia, a retired soccer player, though athlete Brian Cushing. Brian, who played on the Houston Texans with JJ, is married to Kealia’s sister Megan. JJ and the former Chicago Red Stars player dated quietly for a year before making their relationship public in 2017. The couple announced their engagement in May 2019 and tied the knot on Valentine’s Day in 2020. The two were wed at The Ocean Club in the Bahamas. Their son Koa was born two and a half years after their nuptials in October 2022.

On their fifth wedding anniversary this year, the couple visited the spot where they said their “I dos” with their son. In a celebratory Instagram post, Kealia wrote, “5 years later and we are back in the exact spot we got married, this time with our babies Happy Anniversary @jjwatt I love you more than ever.” The NFL player wrote his own post to commemorate the occasion and shared a side-by-side image of their wedding day and the day they revisited the spot. He gushed in the caption, “5 Years. Same Day. Same Spot. Somehow even happier now, which I didn’t know was possible. Happy Anniversary Beautiful!”
