Musician Jesse McCartney and Wife Katie Peterson Welcome Baby #1, Reveals Sporty Baby Name

Singer Jesse McCartney is officially a dad! The “Beautiful Soul” singer and his wife Katie Peterson announced the birth of their first baby together. The couple’s baby, who was due in August, arrived early on May 7th.

The musician shared a series of images of his newborn at the hospital, and the little one wore a white outfit with their name stitched into it. The couple welcomed a baby boy, news they revealed in March, and chose to name him Archer James McCartney. In the caption of their joint Instagram announcement, Katie used a musical reference to reveal her son’s birth, “Archer took center stage on 5/7/25.”

In the post, Katie shared a bit more about the couple’s son and his early arrival. “Our sweet Archie couldn’t wait to meet us and arrived a bit earlier than expected. We are so in love with him. He loves when mommy reads him a book and when daddy sings him off to sleep.” She went on to reveal that Archer is still spending time in the hospital before coming home. “We look forward to bringing him home very soon to meet his big sister Bailey,” she shared, referring to the couple’s dog, “who sleeps with his blanket every night. Enjoy some cute pictures of our little fighter, Archer.”

The “Make a Baby” singer and his wife announced in February that they were expecting their first baby. They announced the news in a Valentine’s Day themed photoshoot reveal complete with rose and hearts. The couple dated for nine years before tying the knot in October 2021 at the Santa Lucia Preserve in Carmel, California.

Congratulations to Jesse and Katie on the birth of baby Archer! We wish the family lots of love as they prepare to bring their baby boy home.
