Jimmy Kimmel is a Grandfather, Daughter Katie Kimmel Welcomes 1st Baby with Husband Will Logsdon
Late night host Jimmy Kimmel is a grandfather! The Jimmy Kimmel Live host shared the new during his show last night, revealing that his daughter Katie Kimmel and her husband Will Logsdon welcomed their first baby. “My daughter had a baby last night.”
At the start of his show last night, Jimmy addressed why the show was canceled the previous night. “You know, we were supposed to have a show last night,” he started, “but we didn’t because my daughter had a baby last night.” He went on to give an update, sharing, “The baby is healthy. They gave her a very cute name.” Then he revealed, “Her name is Patti.” As for Patti’s middle name, Katie and Will honored Jimmy’s mother: Joan.
On his new role as a grandfather, he shared it’s “a big responsibility to be a grandfather.” He recalled some funny things his own grandparents used to do. His grandfather on his dad’s side, who was an elevator operator, used to use a police siren to cut through traffic, and his grandfather on his mom’s side, would “give himself haircuts with a cigarette lighter.” He joked that he’s going to have to “figure out something weird to teach my grandkids.”
The TV host shares his daughter Katie with his ex-wife Gina Kimmel. The former couple also have a son named Kevin, 31. Jimmy and his current wife Molly McNearney also have two children together: Jane, 10, and Billy, 8.
Congratulations to Jimmy on becoming a grandfather and to Katie and Will on the arrival of their first baby!
