MLB Player Shohei Ohtani Welcomes 1st Baby with Wife Mamiko Tanaka: ‘I Am So Grateful’
Los Angeles Dodgers player Shohei Ohtani is a dad! The athlete took to Instagram to announce the birth of his first baby with his wife Mamiko Tanaka. “Welcome to the Ohtani Family!”
In a text-based Instagram post, the MLB player shared that his wife gave birth to a baby girl. He did not reveal the name of his daughter nor her exact birth date. He did add one image of his daughter with the post: a close-up of her feet. He also showed a picture of the couple’s dog Decoy. Shohei expressed his gratitude to those in his life on his journey to welcome a baby. “I am so grateful to my loving wife who gave birth to our healthy beautiful daughter. To my daughter, thank you for making us very nervous yet super anxious parents.” He continued by addressing his team, “I would also like to thank the Dodgers organizations, my teammates, and the fans for their constant support and encouragement.” He closed out his announcement writing, “I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to all the medical professionals who dedicated their support to us, up until this wonderful day.”
Shohei’s organizations took to the comments to show their support for the athlete’s family. The official Dodgers account commented, “Congratulations, Shohei and Mamiko! Can’t wait to meet the newest Dodger.” The MLB Instagram account wrote, “Congrats Shohei and Mamiko!” The athlete and his wife, who tied the knot last year,announced in December that he was growing his family.
